Steve REICH - DRUMMING (1971)
In a special collaboration with Monday Evening Concerts, the Getty Museum is thrilled to present Steve Reich's 1971 composition Drumming. A masterpiece of late-20th-century minimalist music, Drumming is a study in percussion with layers of repeated patterns played on bongos, marimbas, and glockenspiels, with piccolo and voice. Experience the cascading passages of Reich's iconic work as Jonathan Hepfer directs a unique presentation of this world-renowned composer, set among the architecture and vistas of the Getty's plaza at sunset. Limited chairs and cushions will be available along with floor seating.
