Artist Biography
Fahad Siadat voice
Fahad is a Bay Area performer/composer specializing in theatrical music for vocal ensembles. His work explores the differing sound possibilities of the voice, utilizing both standard notation/singing as well as extended vocal techniques. Fahad regularly works in collaboration with dancers, actors, and choreographers finding the places where ideas converge to create new structures and concepts. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the arts in Music Performance and Composition with a focus on Vocal Music, and a Bachelor's of Music in Theory and Composition from Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. He has studied vocal performance with Chuck Cassey, Gayle Shay, Jonathan Retzlaff, Tracy Prentice, Paul Berkolds, and Kate Conklin and studied composition with Stan Link, Michael Rose, and Ulrich Krieger. He currently performs regularly with the Santa Cruz Chorale, Toccata Orchestra and in regular collaboration with Andre Megerdichian of B&E Dance Productions, and is composer-in-residence for the Toccata Orchestra in Lake Tahoe and Warrior Poet Theater Productions in Los Angeles. He is also the founder of the Resonance Collective, a non-profit group of collaborative artists from various disciplines.
